Course Overview
This course equips delegates with the knowledge, practical skills and expertise to understand the principles of fire safety design both prescriptive and performance based. The delegate will gain an insight into fire safety engineering concepts and how to apply the skills they learn in their field of work. The highly interactive course makes use of selected case study exercises to provide delegates with a clear understanding of the complexity of modern fire safety principles. The course allows the delegate to practice their new skills through hands on group work and individual practical exercises. This course is designed to give the delegate ''hands on" practical experience of managing fire safety risks.

This course is aimed at Managers, occupiers and owners designated as the competent person who has responsibility for managing fire safety risks.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of the course the delegate will be able to -
Understand the importance of fire safety.
Understand the combustion process and spread of fire.
Understand Human behaviour in an emergency situation.
Identify suitable fire prevention and protection measures and develop practical solutions to minimise the risk of fire in the workplace.
Understand the concepts of performance based design and fire engineering principles.
Advise on and develop a Fire Risk Assessment Solution.
Manage the fire safety requirements of a building or workplace.
Plan, carry out and evaluate the effectiveness of fire drills..
Appreciate the requirements of fire safety law
Plan, Carry Out and Supervise emergency evacuations.
Assessment
Delegates are required to complete and pass the following assessments to be awarded their Connaught Certificate of training:
Case Study Exercise Review.
Short Knowledge Test (45 Minutes).
Develop a suitable and sufficient work-place fire risk assessment.
Certification
On successful completion of this course the delegate will receive a Connaught Compliance Gulf Services Certificate.
